Position: Systems Administrator
 
Location: UK (Slough)
 
Salary: £30,000-£40,000 + excellent benefits (inc: bonus, stock options, BUPA, pension)
 
Job Description:
 

• Provide System Administration and technical support (24 x7) of servers and devices of Cloud Enterprise Datacenter customers on Windows and VMware Platforms
• Execute proactive hardware maintenance tasks and deploy new hardware based on regular requirements at the Enterprise Datacenter
• Provide monitoring for eGain applications of and Cloud Enterprise Datacenter and monitor the entire cloud environment
• Create and maintain technical documentations
• Working with vendors like Dell, Microsoft, VMware and Cisco for troubleshooting and support issues
• Basic administration and troubleshooting of networking issues

Desired Skills & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, Engineering, or a related degree or its foreign equivalent
• Minimum of 2 - 3 years of experience in Systems Administration or IT Support
• Windows servers with its associated services like WWW, Active Directories and Domains, Group policies, Terminal services, DNS, FTP, WSUS, etc
• VMWARE platform for datacenter services that includes - Cloning and making templates of virtual servers, design and setup of High Available setups, Disaster Recovery and virtual machine backups
• Mail technologies that includes - ISP service offering setup, spam and virus filtering on emails, SPF and domain keys, IMAP, SMTP and POP3 protocols
• Microsoft SQL service installation, basic configurations and administration
• System administration of Windows and Linux based servers
• Hardware platform that includes physical standalone servers/blade chassis, basic storage architectures, awareness on Dell SAN’s/external arrays
• Knowledge on Cisco routing, switching and firewalling
• Project management skills
• Ability to be a core contributor and possess logical/methodical thought process to troubleshooting/task automation.
• Ideally scripting/programming (powershell) language experience
