Large underground gold operation in WA require a Senior Planning Engineer to join the tech services team on site.

Working on a FIFO 8/6 roster you will Report to the Underground Manager and will be responsible for producing designs and schedules for long term planning and production systems for the operation.

Your duties will include but not limited to:
  • Review existing data and produce mine designs
  • Produce schedules
  • Manage all medium and long-term mine planning and scheduling
  • Assist in producing annual updates
  • Develop safe work procedures, in line with Long-Term and Medium-Term design and scheduling system policies
  • Develop and continue Life of Mine schedules
  • Stope Design
  • Mentoring and coaching of Junior Engineers

The ideal candidate will possess:
  • Tertiary qualifications in Mine Engineering
  • 5+ years experience in an underground role
  • Previous experience in mine planning
  • Experience with Vulcan highly advantageous
  • Previous experience as a Senior Engineer in an underground hard rock environment

Some of your duties will include:
· Ensuring all work is completed in a timely manner minimising down time.
· Maximising highest possible level of plant availability by ensuring all scheduled and shut down electrical maintenance is carried out in a timely manner.
· Work orders completed in a timely manner to the standards set by the OPF Supervisor.
· Meeting company maintenance and production objectives by ensuring all electrical and installation work is carried out to Australian standards.
· Ensures the workshop and yard are kept tidy and that the plant site is left tidy after electrical work is carried out
· Carry out other duties that may be reasonably required.
· Monitoring, controlling and recording plant operations, defects and breakdowns.
· Conducting Daily Plant Inspections, recording plant defects and rectifying same as appropriate.
· Advising OPF Supervisor of any problems likely to impact upon production.
· Commitment to the continuous improvement of relevant work practices and behaviours.
· Supervise on the job training of apprentices and trainees in consultation with the Supervisor and training staff.
What skills and experience do you need?

· West Australian 'A' Grade Electrical License

Reporting into the Shutdown Superintendent and working within a small team you will be responsible for planning and scheduling of all maintenance and shutdowns including:
  • Development of schedules of work and shut down maintenance plans
  • Deliver effective shutdowns, within the timeframes agreed
  • Preparation of planned maintenance
  • Maintenance reporting
  • Achieving operational targets

The ideal candidate will have a trade background, around 10 years in a fixed plant shutdown planning role with experience crushing, screening and conveyors using SAP.

Shenhua Watermark Coal is currently at the EA phase of their new and exciting 10 mt open cut mining project and now requires a Mining Engineer at a Planning Superintendent level.
 
 
The Role:
  • Participate in the development of the mine detailed plan;
  • Prepare operational and project cost estimates, production schedules, and report on progress,production and costs compared to budget;
  • Assessing the natural, technical, financial and safety risks associated with the phases ofthe development;
  • Determine the safetyof processes, order of extraction and safety of mine walls; 
  • Plan and coordinatethe utilisation of labour and equipment consistent with efficiency targets,statutes, safety guidelines and environmental conditions.
 
 
This is a key role in the detailed planning and optimisation of the mine for efficient and cost effective extraction and will strongly impact on the life of mine cost structure. The right person will have the opportunity to progress towards senior mining or technical services roles in the mining operation.
 
Requirements:
  • Degree in Mining Engineering or a related discipline;
  • NSW Coal Mining Open Cut Manager Mining Certificate of Competency is desirable;
  • A minimum 10 years professional mining industry experience;
  • Extensive coal mine planning and scheduling experience;
  • Mine start-up experience desirable;
  • Highly proficient in the use of mine planning, scheduling and modellingsoftware;
  • High level computer literacy including the Microsoft Office Suite,Microsoft Project;
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills including negotiation,report writing and presentation;
  • Proactive leadership and ability to work either unsupervised or as partof a team; and
