The opportunity

We are looking for a Supervisor Mobile Equipment Maintenance (MEM) – Drill based at our iron ore Nammuldi open pit development, to supervise repairs and ongoing issues related to drills as well as liaise with the Production department.

Currently undergoing a below-water-table development, Nammuldi will be introducing the world’s largest deployment of Autonomous Haulage Systems (AHS) and play a pivotal role in Rio Tinto’s substantial growth plans across the Pilbara.

What the role entails
 
This position is a great opportunity for an individual to work effectively and efficiently within a large maintenance team in a rapidly expanding mine. Working on a fly in fly out roster (8 days on, 6 days off, 7 nights on and 7 days off) and reporting to the Support Superintendent - MEM, you will be:
  • Ensuring that schedules and plans are timely completed and adhered
  • Completing the requirements related to data collection and recording
  • Ensuring that health and safety measures are effectively followed within the team
  • Managing and developing team performance 
  • Enabling the Superintendent to lead the team safely and efficiently whilst undertaking a range of support activities
What you will need for this role:

To succeed in this exciting and challenging role, you will have:
  • A Western Australia “C” class driver’s licence
  • Experience with drills such as Cubex, SKS and Pit Vipers
  • Experience in a maintenance environment
A Mechanical or an Electrical trade background along with knowledge of SAP and maintenance principles will be desirable but not essential.

We offer you a family friendly 8 days on, 6 days off, 7 nights on and 7 days off roster commuting from Perth, Albany, Busselton, Geraldton, other regional and interstate locations for eligible employees.

Due to growth in the company and with more projects in the pipeline, an opportunity has arisen for a Workshop Manager/Leading Hand Diesel Fitter based in South Australia's mid-north.

Reporting directly to the Operations Superintendent, you will oversee a team of diesel mechanics and fitters in the workshop and lead by example with your technical ability and experience. You will use your experience in safe and efficient workshop operations, developing and leading a high performing team focused on maintaining the haulage fleet.

To be successful in this role you must be trade qualified within a diesel/mechanical field and have previous experience in a leading hand/supervisory role. You will need to have well developed technical skills and attention to detail on Kenworth equipment with a background in FIFO site based work.

Offering a 2/1 roster, FIFO from Adelaide, you will be provided with flights, food and camp accommodation. Job Description
Reporting to the Technical Services Manager, the Technical Services Superintendent will be responsible for leading the technical services team which is made up of drill and blast engineers, mining engineers, surveyors and a geologist. Specifically you will accountable for delivering the following:
  • Short, mid and long-term planning for the extraction of 40m bcm of Overburden and 4 million tonnes of product coal;
  • Review existing and implement appropriate mine planning solutions to achieve production targets;
  • Provide mentoring and training for junior members of the team;
  • Assist in the development of budgets and manage costs;
  • Coordinate quality and timely reports for stakeholders;
  • Maintain health and safety at all times.
The Successful Applicant
The successful candidate will ideally possess the following attributes;
  • Tertiary qualifications in mine engineering or equivalent;
  • At least 3 - 5 years experience at a senior level in open cut coal mining;
  • High level of competence in mine planning software packages;
  • Developed coaching and leadership skills to develop a new team;
  • Experience in contractor management.

  • Equipment inspections
 
This position is based in NW QLD.
In order to be short listed for this position you must have experience working on Surface Mobile Equipment which include:
 
Dozer (D10 & D11)
Digger (Hitachi 1900)
Grader (16M & 16G)
Loader (Komatsu WA700)
 
Skills & Experience:
 
2 - 3 years experience in supervisor role
Trade Qualification: Diesel Fitter / Fitter
High level of computer skills
C Class Drivers License  (current)   
Mining Industry Experience (Hard Rock/Surface experience preferred)
