PREMIER FIELD ENGINEER - Systems Center Configuration Manager (SCCM)

Premier Field Engineering is looking for a technical & passionate PFE to help our customers with the latest generation of System Center Configuration Manager.

We are looking for a PFE with experience in technical design, driving projects, managing and building new relationships with internal and external customers and partners, and great team spirit. This person must be able to drive support consulting engagements, write technical and non-technical communications, and work effectively with our partners and customers to help make them successful in their enterprise manageability activities.

Candidate is expected to work effectively in cross-group situations and be able to drive towards integration-oriented solutions to provide Microsoft customers with reliable technical solutions to the complex integration problems associated with business solutions built on the Microsoft platform. The PFE Team supports a diverse variety of technical solutions built with Microsoft technology and products. Typical tasks performed in this role include specific problem isolation and correction, user mode debugging, conducting supportability reviews, performance tuning, stability consulting/troubleshooting, configuration management, pre-rollout testing and general support consulting.

Strong business background in Fortune 500 and/or experience with consulting firms is desired. Overnight travel is required. This position is intended to be dedicated to one or more customers but due to customer locations and changing customer needs may require up to 50% availability to travel.

BS in Computer Science or equivalent experience required. MCITP, MCSE, or other applicable advanced certification is strongly preferred, but not required at hire. We will consider related field (or equivalent) experience.

Primary responsibilities include providing on-site technical support solutions for customer service delivery and availability, while ensuring satisfaction with Microsoft software on the SCCM clients and servers. The successful candidate will be capable of providing field technical support presence for groups in the Microsoft Services organization, including but not limited to Premier Support, Microsoft Consulting Services, and Customer Service and Support. The Premier Field Engineer acts as the primary onsite technical contact, providing customer visibility, advanced technical support and problem resolution for corporate customers, including issues escalated to the highest levels of management.

The candidate will provide technical support including product technical training onsite, as well as via telephone, and electronic media. Candidate must be able to manage hot issues by setting customer expectations, devising and implementing action plans, being highly available and professionally communicating to all parties involved.


Technical Requirements: Solid understanding of standard client/server, networking, and Internet fundamentals, superior knowledge and demonstrated technical proficiency in Microsoft Systems Center Configuration Manager (SCCM) with experience in managing medium to large environments. The candidate should understand all aspects of SCCM effectively including patch management, software distribution and logging in detail. In addition, experience in other Microsoft Management technologies, including Active Directory services (AD), Microsoft Operations Manager (MOM) and/or System Center Operations Manager, System Center Essentials and WSUS is desired.

Additionally, functional knowledge across the suite of System Center products including System Center Service Manager, Orchestrator, Operations Manager, Virtual Machine Manager, Data Protection Manager, and other components of the System Center suite is desired. Additionally, Knowledge of the following would be advantageous: MDT (BDD), PowerShell, repackaging applications and virtualization of OS and applications.

The Datacenter Network Technician will assist the onsite DCS teams with the increasing demand relating to deployments, to reduce post deployment escalations and troubleshooting, to increase the first-time accuracy of network deployments, to increase the speed and efficiency of data center installations and to help bridge the gaps in network deployments.

As a local resource to the DCS hardware installation team, the Datacenter Network Technician will be available for issues regarding project workflow management, network topology and troubleshooting, cabling, redundant connectivity, power and cooling. The Network Technician will work closely with the DC TPM, FPM and Core Services teams, with the GFS HDS team and with the GNS teams, including the Implementation, Core and Design Engineering teams and the Operations team. This role will be local to the major data center teams and available to other DCS teams by region.

Skills:

* Leadership and effective coordination capability to deliver upon established SLAs

Required Basic Qualifications:
