A regional based role with a focus on regional exploration projects in NSW.

A new exploration company, who has significant projects in the pipeline. The company is well funded, and is the ideal 'blank drawing board', for ambitious experienced Geologists

 

The Role

 

As a Senior Exploration Geologist the suitable candidate will be part of a growing team and will directly supervise and be responsible for exploration activities as required by the CEO

• Recommending, planning and executing exploration programs at various stages of maturity from grass roots through to resource drilling on "brownfields" projects
• Identify and evaluate exploration and development opportunities
• Field based geological exploration programmes and supervision of geotechnical survey contractors.
• Planning and management of drilling programmes
• Coordinating resource estimates including creating and maintaining databases, data validation, and reporting results to JORC standards
• Supervising and mentoring less experienced geologists and field personnel.

Skills and Attributes

• Around 8 yrs experience in exploration with an emphasis on hard rock and base-metal deposits
• Firm understanding of ore deposit types and their geological relationships
• Geological mapping skills and demonstated ability to identify stratigraphic, structural and alteration sequences in volcano-sedimentary terrains
• Competent in MapInfo/Micromine software programs
• Membership of AusIMM or AIG and qualified as a Competent person under the JORC code
• Significant field supervisory experience
