As a defence electronics and semiconductor manufacturer we require a Senior Materials Planning Specialist based at our Glenrothes, Fife site.
Material Planner to work in the Power and Control business. The role will involve process improvements, management of the customers MRP, inventory analysis, shortage management, kitting, maintenance and validity of work orders and their release. Utilise Kinaxis software in the management of Material related data.
Main Responsibilities:-
- Reporting to the Senior Material Controller or Material Control Lead.
- Management of materials planning in line with changing customer demands, ensuring material is available to the production line as and when required to build customer orders.
- Progress chase materials through co-ordination with procurement, goods-in, quality
- Work closely with master scheduling to ensure full utilisation of production line.
- Excess, Obsolescence and general Inventory management and reporting, ensuring targets are met and improvements are continued to be made.
- Map, review and improve on current processes and procedures, ensuring best practice is adopted within the materials area.
- Work with Stores and operations personnel to ensure inventory accuracy.
- Work closely with peers to resolve any production issues.
- Attend daily production meetings and other adhoc meetings as dictated by contract.
- Generation of reports, 'MRP what if's' for Program Management and functional heads.
- Maintenance of safety stocks and kanbans.

- SAP experience preferred
- Six Sigma/project management experience preferred
- Think out of the box
- Extensive experience of supply chain solutions
- IT literate -excel, word, powerpoint, internet
- Ability to work with all levels of people
- Excellent communication skills
- Strong sense of urgency
- Attention to Detail
- Ability to prioritise workload
- Good financial awareness
- Institute of Operations Management preferred
- Proven experience in supply chain and materials management
- Strong knowledge of MRP and MPS essential
- Proven record of continuous improvement achievements
