The position will be based in Balikpapan due to the proximity to the suppliers and the shore base but some travel can be expected.

Indonesia, Balikpapan. Housing, school, medical clinic, recreational facility and office located in a compound. Schooling from Pre-K through Grade 8. Routine medical problems can be treated, but for serious illness, surgery, or elective surgery, expatriates normally return home or travel to Australia or Singapore. Indonesia has a tropical climate, uniformly hot and humid, with monsoon rains from October through April and a dry season from May through September.

Position Details:
Responsibilities for this position may include but are not limited to:

  • Responsible well planning and execution for multiple fields utilizing swamp, tender assist and jack-up operations..
  • Responsible for the preparation and execution of well-written, risk-assessed/mitigated detailed procedures.
  • Evaluate complex and critical well problems and makes recommendations/develops procedures for corrective actions.
  • Provide additional DE support as required for JV contracts, service-partner, and materials-management issues.
  • Support other Drilling Operations Engineers and Drilling Superintendent and acts in the capacity of those team members who might be offshore or out of country.
  • This position will coordinate new rig start up operations.

    Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in offshore and/or swamp well drilling projects and operations. Technically and operationally credible to influence engineers, superintendents, DSMs, asset team & service partners, as appropriate to achieve safe, regulatory-compliant, reliable, and efficient designs and operations.
  • Proven Communication, Documentation & Mentoring Skills: Able to work well with all stakeholders and maintain clear communication channels. Provides technical guidance and mentoring to well completion, intervention, and workover engineers.
  • Experience with Category Management, contracting processes.
  • Proven organizational skills: Responsible for preparing well completion, workover, and intervention project plans to achieve Clear Leader OE results. Able to manage and coordinate, with a dynamic rig schedule in a challenging remote location, ordering, delivery, and QA/QC of equipment and operational activities of many service partners in support of complex completion, workover and intervention operations.

    Senior Planner Shutdowns

    Joining the Goonyella Riverside Mine Maintenance Department, this position is responsible for leading the coordination of major shutdown maintenance on site. Acting as a senior member of the team, you will provide guidance in liaising between the company and contractors to ensure Maintenance is carried out safely, effectively and within budget.
    The position will ensure that shutdowns are thoroughly planned and scheduled with relevant stakeholders and the logistics of the events are project managed in an orderly and efficient manner.
    The successful candidate will have and be able to demonstrate:
    • A strong commitment to Zero Harm.
    • A relevant trade qualification.
    • Post trade experience in Maintenance Planning.
    • The ability to identify critical issues and react to them appropriately.
    • Computer literacy with the Microsoft suite of programs and Computerised Maintenance Systems such as SAP.
    • Prioritise tasks to create effective maintenance plans.
    • Administration and document control.
    • Ensuring both CHPP Plants meets budgeted availability and reliability targets.
    Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
    • Ensuring compliance with all safety procedures, safe work instructions, standard activities, legislation and rules.
    • Provide leadership in continuous improvement, team development and facilitating change.
    • Review maintenance strategies & processes to improve effectiveness of planned shutdown maintenance.
    • Liaising with Production Department personnel to optimise windows of opportunity for our Shutdown Maintenance planning and scheduling.
    • Analyse maintenance work order feedback, update master data and audit for accuracy, format and content.
    • Establishing Capital Expenditure approvals and Monitoring Shutdown costs.
    • Undertake reliability studies to develop maintenance strategies, plans, schedules & spare part requirements.
    • Monitoring strategic maintenance planning KPI's and provide detailed reports during Shutdowns to a broad audience onsite.

    The work will involve FIFO from Perth to 2 various BHP sites in the Pilbara region, Western Australia to assist with an upcoming 2 shutdowns.
    The dates for these shutdowns are;
    • 1st - 16th July, and
    • 10th - 21st July
    Rates are $42.67 p/hr plus penalties equating to approximately $58 p/hr flat assuming you work a 12 hour day.
    Penalties are worked out as follows;
    Normal Time : $42.67 p/hr
    Time & 1/2 : $59.74 p/hr
    Double Time : $76.81 p/hr
    To be considered you MUST LIVE IN WA and have the following:
    • Advanced Riggers ticket.
    • White Card
    • Current Valid Driver’s License is required.
    • Minimum 2 years rigging experience involving mining & shutdown work.

    Reporting to the Mobile Maintenance Supervisor, and operating in a climate of continuous improvement, your key responsibilities will include:
    • Preventative maintenance, repairs, and fault finding of CAT dump trucks, Hitachi and Liebherr excavators and other ancillary mobile equipment;
    • Undertaking preventative maintenance inspections in accordance with maintenance planning systems and recommending appropriate follow-up action;
    • Working from schematic drawings, prints, plans or manuals, and recording any modifications;
    • Utilising computerised maintenance management systems; and
    • Undertaking training, as required, in order to gain new skills.
    You will display total commitment to a zero harm environment through your active participation in safety meetings and site safety programs.
    Skills and Experience
    Successful applicants will hold an auto electrical trade certificate and hold a current 'C' class driver's licence. Previous experience in the maintenance of mining and civil earthworks or similar heavy industry mobile equipment is highly desirable.
    Location
    The roles across our Pilbara operations are offered on a FIFO basis from Perth, direct to site, on a 2:1 roster. The outstanding facilities at the FIFO villages include; a fully equipped gym, swimming pool, squash, tennis and basketball courts, golf driving range, mini golf, netted cricket pitch, beach volleyball court and recreation room. All rooms at the villages have their own ensuite bathroom, television, refrigerator and air-conditioning.
