The Role
We are currently seeking an HSE Manager to join the team at CBI on the Gorgon Project. In this role, you will be responsible for the overall establishment and operation of the Project Health and Safety Plan.

The position will be based on Barrow Island WA, on a FIFO 26:9 roster.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in, and actively promote, an Incident and Injury Free (IIF) culture.
  • Show high regard for personal safety and safety of all personnel
  • Commitment to environment and quarantine leadership to ensure we are all stewards of the environment in which we work
  • Arrange Safety Inductions
  • Co-ordinate Job Safety Analyses for all site activities
  • Continuous monitoring of jobsite safety
  • Reporting of inspections, investigations and audits
  • Participation in Safety Inspections and investigations with representative of the client, regulatory bodies, unions and subcontractors.
  • Preparation of agendas for "Tool Box" safety meetings
  • Prepare and submit all safety reports
  • Ensure completion of all CBI incident reports and relevant Workers Compensation Claim documentation
  • Notify the client's safety section of all incidents
  • Provide reports of safety statistics including all incidents, first aids, recordable and HIPO’s
  • Ensure the TIE process is implemented
  • Check the safety team meetings and distribute minutes
  • Conduct monthly system audits of the HSE plan


Candidate Requirements

  • At least 10-15 years experience in a Senior HSE role
  • Extensive experience within the Oil & Gas industry
  • Experience in Heavy Construction / LNG Tank construction
  • Comprehensive knowledge of relevant statutory regulations
  • Formal training in safety practices including: OHS requirements; JSAs and Hazard Identification; Safety induction practices; Accident investigation and reporting.
  • Ability to communicate and motivate at all levels
  • Suitable trade qualifications are advantageous

Reporting through to the Technical Services Superintendent, the role of the Mining Engineer is to provide engineering support for the Open Cut mine site.
 
Some of the key responsibilities will include:
 
  • Ensuring Drill and Blast design and planning activities comply with environmental and legislative requirements
  • Preparing optimised Drill & Blast designs
  • Short term sequencing of mine excavation and dumping activities
  • Preparing detailed excavation and haul road designs
  • Monitoring design and execution of the mine plan
  • Supporting the short and medium term scheduling process
  • Supporting the budgeting process through preparation of mining and drill and blast physicals
  • Providing advice to the Tech Services Superintendent, Tech Services Manager and  Operations Manager in the provision of technical support for mining and Drill and Blast processes for the Open Cut
 
To be successful in the role you will have:
 
  • Bachelor’s Degree qualifications in mining or earth science related discipline
  • Experience in Open Cut Coal mining
  • Exposure to Mine Planning, Scheduling and Design software and processes. Experience with Vulcan will be highly regarded

  • Detailed knowledge of open pit mine production and grade control processes.
  • Strong understanding of pit design.
  • Competent person qualified to sign off on ASX announcements.

  • Controlling ore quality by assisting minimization of dilution and ore loss, whilst continually improving grade control systems.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills and proven ability to work autonomously and within the team.
