The opportunity
We are looking for a Development Operator - Dozer, Grader, Water Cart, Wheel Dozer at our iron ore Nammuldi open pit development, to safely operate a variety of mobile equipment in an open pit environment.
Currently undergoing a below-water-table development, Nammuldi will be introducing the world’s largest deployment of Autonomous Haulage Systems (AHS) and play a pivotal role in Rio Tinto’s substantial growth plans across the Pilbara.

What the role entails
This position is a great opportunity for those who will possess a strong commitment to safety and want to learn new equipment. Working a family friendly roster (8 days on, 6 days off, 7 nights on and 7 days off) and reporting to the Development Supervisor, you will be:
- Operating mobile equipment in a safe manner
- Assisting with pre-starts of the equipment
- Managing shift handovers
- Fostering a culture of zero harm
To succeed in this exciting and challenging role, you will have:
- A current Heavy Rigid (HR) license
- Flexibility with commute
- Strong focus on safety
- Willingness to learn new equipment in a team oriented environment
