Design & Build is seeking a Senior Mine Planning Engineer for a top 5 Australian Mining Operator. This is a DIDO role offering an excellent family friendly roster.
This is a recently commissioned operation and is an excellent opportunity for a Mine Planning Engineer to work as part of a successful operation on a open cut metalliferous operation
This is a senior position reporting to the Mining Manager with direct managerial responsibilities in the technical services team.

Key responsibilities of the Senior Mine Planning Engineer will include:
- Managing and mentoring the technical services team on site
- Short and Medium Term Mine Planning
- Monitoring and ensuring production targets are met
- Maintaining a safe work place and managing and promoting health and safety procedures
- Establishing strong rapport with colleagues in the team as well as other teams within the operation
- Provide leadership and management to the current employees whist implementing succession planning
- Identifying continuous improvement opportunities for the operation
- Training and recruitment
To succeed in the Senior Mine Planning Engineer role you will need:
- TERTIARY QUALIFICATIONS IN MINING ENGINEERING
- A minimum of 7 years experience in the mining industry working on metalliferous open cut operations
- Scheduling and mine optimization skills
- Mine planning and ideally some geological experience
- Planning and organizational skills; including problem solving and team evaluation
- To be living or keen to live in QLD and undertake a DIDO role
