Job Description

The Presales Technical Consultant will work closely with key departmental and project stakeholders across the organisation.  Therefore, the ability to work collaboratively and effectively with all levels of management and staff within the organisation is a key priority in this role.  No supervisory responsibilities required for this position.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the sales team throughout the sales cycle and through ongoing product training and development.
  • Provide pre-sales support and consulting to the Sales Team and prospective customers, this includes assisting sales personnel by resolving technical questions and answering prospect documentation such as Tenders.
  • Develops a detailed understanding of the Silverpop product family and Services methodologies to apply within customer engagements.
  • Introduce best practices, knowledge sharing and risk mitigation strategies into every project phase to produce deliverables that exceed client expectations.
  • Architects technical solution and associated implementation plan, taking into account clients’ marketing, technology and business strategies and objectives.

Desired Skills & Experience

  • Specific experience in a pre-sales or client service role with a similar SAAS organisation is preferred.
  • Exposure to interactive marketing channels (email, SMS, RSS, SEM, social networks, micro sites)
  • Understanding of digital marketing in both theory and practice.
  • Solid understanding of database and relational data structures.
  • Knowledge of HTML, CSS and Adobe Creative Suite desirable.
  • Knowledge of Javascript and XML an advantage.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office programs.
  • An understanding of Web Analytics solutions preferred (Adobe/Ominture, CoreMetrics, Web Trends etc)
  • Experience in Project Management, preferably in the Professional Services group of a software product or consulting company. Ability to gather business requirements and assimilate that information into Project Specifications or Statements of Work.
  • Proven track record in risk management and escalation procedures.
  • Strong communication (written & verbal), organizational, interpersonal, problem solving, negotiation, multi-tasking, and follow through skills.
  • CRM application experience highly desirable.
