Job Description

A new opportunity for a Financial Accountant has become available within the Leighton Contractors division of Financial Services. The primary responsibility of this role will be the provision of financial accounting services for JV's and Alliance business units under the support of the Manager Financial Accounting.

This is a 9 month contract covering maternity leave and will be based in Chatswood. 

Key Responsibilities

• Preparation and processing of month end JV and Alliance journals;
• On-cost and journal salaries and wages from information sourced from the Northern Region and Business Services payroll;
• Generation and reconciliation of monthly work-papers for withholding taxes (FCWT, GST, CoC);
• Preparation and processing of appropriate recharge invoices in accordance with contract agreements;
• Preparation and submission of monthly management reports;
• Preparation and submission of quarterly financial reporting schedules;
• Quarterly and Annual preparation of income tax work-papers and return;
• Assist with internal and external Audit process and resolution of queries;
• Resolution of queries relating to the financial accounting processes;
• Participation of Oracle SIT, UAT testing as required.

Desired Skills & Experience

To be successful in this role the candidate will have the following skills, experience and demonstrate the below competencies:

• Minimum 5 years relevant post graduate experience;
• Understanding of financial systems, principles and processes;
• Experience in integrated/interfaced accounting systems/ computer applications;
• High level of competency in using Microsoft Office tool set.
