Security Consultant-Professional Services Sourcefire, Inc. - EMEA - France

Position Description

The Consultant is responsible for delivering professional services engagements sold by Sourcefire’s sales team. Engagements could include staff augmentation, subscription services, incident response, custom coding and internal projects. A consultant must work independently with the utmost professionalism whether delivering at a customer location or from a remote office. Sourcefire’s consultants are subject matter experts in one of the following: information security, intrusion detection systems, intrusion prevention systems, next generation firewalls and/or endpoint protection. The consultant is responsible for tracking time, concluding deliverables and communicating with customers, sales staff and project resources without manager oversight.

Responsibilities

The core responsibilities of the Security Consultant are:
  • Delivering professional services engagements to customers.
  • Documentation of work performed - weekly, monthly, and yearly auditing
  • Be a Subject Matter Expert in a Sourcefire technology; be an extension of the customer’s team
  • Able to deliver to large scale IDS/IPS deployment exceeding 300,000 nodes
  • Comfortable presenting to small groups and performs small-scale discussion/training.
  • Snort Rule Writing expertise
  • Sourcefire/Snort/IDS/IPS Enterprise Process Expertise
  • Security Analysis Skills at the Expert level
  • Vulnerability Assessment understanding

Travel up to 50% delivering Professional Services

Job Requirements

Required Skills:
  • Previous Consultant Experience
  • Preferred Sales Engineering experience
  • Excellent communication skills (written, spoken and listening)
  • Highly proficient in Linux/Unix - Scripting a plus
  • Highly proficient in TCP/IP networking
  • Knowledgeable in network security and skilled in security technologies
  • Knowledgeable in Snort and IDS/IPS
  • CISSP or Information Security experience required.


Other Requirements:
  • Must be fluent in French to a point where a business conversation can be held.
  • Ideally should be a French citizen.
  • Ideally should have Security Clearance.


Personal Qualities:
  • Minimum 3 years experience consulting or sales engineering with outside clients and end users -- experience integrating/implementing network security products is a must
  • 3 years minimum experience working in a technical capacity with networking and network security products. Experience must include hands on knowledge of IDS systems (Snort experience preferred) and experience creating and tuning IDS and IPS policy
  • Level of comfort presenting to groups of people

Experience working in a small company building process, policy and documentation
