Job Description

This role is accountable to the Superintendent - Planning and is responsible for the ongoing development and performance of their team. The position requires a high level of technical knowledge regarding maintenance practices and systems. As the successful candidate, you will use these skills to train and mentor your team and others involved in the work management process and in the use of SAP.

Key responsibilities:
  • Coordinate and improve the maintenance systems, activities, knowledge and performance through the implementation of maintenance performance measurement strategies
  • Ensure disciplined application of standards and targeted training / mentoring programs
  • Engage and continuously work to improve the teams behaviour in the area of technical skills, quality of task execution and knowledge  

Desired Skills & Experience

Key Attributes:
  • Trade background or tertiary qualifications in Engineering (preferred)
  • Prior experience in maintenance management and / or business process improvement techniques and systems
  • Previous experience in a similar role in a heavy operational or maintenance environment would be advantageous
  • Experience in computerised maintenance systems
  • High level of skill in the use of SAP and the Microsoft Office Suite
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal skills and leadership abilities
