ABOUT THE ROLEAtlas currently has an exciting opportunity for an Exploration Field Assistant to join their professional team in the Pilbara.
Reporting to the Field Supervisor, the role of the Field Assistant is to support the Geologists in their field activities as required adhering to company procedures and safety guidelines.
Responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:
  • Assist with any and all exploration activities as required to achieve team goals.
  • Ensure sample pick-up and dispatch is completed in a timely manner and without error.  Liaise with rig geologists to confirm sample qualities are correct and data is accurate for every hole drilled. 
  • Ensure completion of end to end drilling process, from accurate drill hole pegging, sample collection and drill area rehabilitation in accordance with DMP guidelines. 
  • Assist with the efficient and stable operation of remote camps.
  • Contribute to and maintain a safe work environment.
This role operates on a FIFO 12 / 9 roster from Perth to Port Hedland.
ABOUT YOUThe successful applicant will hold a current WA C class driver’s license (or national equivalent) a Senior First Aid certificate, Mine Workers Health Surveillance Certificate and a defensive 4WD course. A forklift or HR Licence would be valuable but is not essential.
To be successful in this role you will have a working knowledge of drill rigs, sampling techniques and previous experience with QAQC along with experience using GPS.
We are looking for a hardworking, reliable and flexible team player, who is motivated and has a strong willingness to learn.
The Field Assistants role is physically demanding and experience working outside, in extreme weathers and in remote and/or regional environments, is essential.
