Job Description

Eaton's Electrical North American Sales division has an immediate opening for a Regional Manager, Project Management. This position will be located in Chicago, IL.

The primary function of a Regional Manager, Project Management is to manage the project team and channels in addition to products and product applications while growing sales in the assigned market; drive the Project Management Process and its associated elements throughout the organization to ensure accurate, complete and timely data with which fact based decisions and evaluations can be made; and drive financial improvements and customer satisfaction on projects, through continuous improvements of Project Management processes by field based Project Managers and Project Engineers.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

The primary functions include; responsibility for the Commercial Construction and/or Industrial market segment sales for the zones supported; supervises and provides training for employees on project team; communicate the vision for the Project Management within Eaton to ensure that the direction of the organization is clearly understood; build relationships with product line management to assist in the development of marketing and product line sales and pricing strategies; develop effective “management to management” relationship with critical customers identified by Project Managers and Sales as appropriate to drive growth and build value for Eaton; and actively participate in the Project Management leadership team, contributing creative ideas, thoughtful criticism, timely reports and updates, and a positive approach to the challenges presented.

Essential job tasks include but are not limited to: 1) ensure integrity and competency of systems to comply with corporate, division, and organization policies, guidelines, and procedures; 2) drive productivity growth within the group utilizing EBE principles and electronic tools to support efficient and profitable business growth; 3) support District Manager in formulating a strategic plan; 4) attract, hire, develop, and retain top quality Project Managers and Project Engineers who excel at providing customer value through the execution of processes, technical and commercial savvy, and effective relationship building with customers; 5) technical product change and pricing negotiation, configuration changes, and approval and construction drawing preparation and changes; and 6) critical customer interface and relationship building while managing financials including Z accounts and customer claims.

Desired Skills & Experience

Basic Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution is required
• Minimum 8 years of professional experience
• 2 years project management experience
• Legally authorized to work in the US without company sponsorship
• Possess and maintain a valid and unrestricted driver’s license

Preferred Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering
• Master’s degree
• 10 years of experience in Field Sales or Marketing
• PMP Certification
• People management experience
• Electrical industry expereince

• Ability to leverage resources and influence authority
• Capable of driving financial improvements and customer satisfaction on projects
• Understanding of technical project change and pricing negotiation
• Ability to lead using communication, interpersonal, teamwork, and conflict management skills
• Capable of continuously growing and developing current customer relationships while still focusing on building new relationships with customers
• Knowledge of Eaton products, services, markets, channels, and competitors
• Possesses presentation, training, planning, and value added selling skills
