Our client is a world leader in its industry and is looking for a Mining Engineer to provide mine managers from multiple sites with planning support for all reclamation, permitting and mining activities. This role is also responsible for mine planning and development, reclamation design and lands management for multiple mineral deposit sites.
This role is a combination of office and field environment, the successful candidate must be able to work outdoors in an open pit mining environment with daily exposure to seasonal climate conditions. There will be some travel associated with this role.
The role will report to the Senior Manager of Mining and Geology.
Key tasks and responsibilities for the role will include;
·Provide support to mining and production managers and professionals in operations and projects.
·Develop and create mine plans to monitor and improve mine development and production.
·Design and assist in layout of reclamation plans for mined out areas.
·Coordinate directly with Sr. Manager Mining and Geology and EHS Manager on mine related permits, planning, and evaluations.
·Perform other duties as assigned.
Skills and Requirements;
·Minimum 4 year BS Degree in Mining Engineering
·At least 5 years' experience in mining or technical support
·Good, proven knowledge of U.S Mining and State Mining Laws
·Strong proficiency in mining and geology geo-statistical software
·Lean manufacturing or Six Sigma highly desirable.
·Strong analytical skills to organize, interpret, and draw conclusions from data.
·Ability to communicate effectively to all levels of mining personnel
·Good organizational skills
·Ability to inspect and report the development of mineral deposits and properties.
·Knowledge of mining computer software and processing applications, experience with AutoCAD, Carlson Software and Gemcom Surpac mine planning software preferred.
·Demonstrated ability to influence without direct authority.
This role requires relocation to the mine site in Georgia (GA), USA.
