Shenhua watermark Coal Pty Ltd is the subsidiary of China Shenhua Energy Company Limited, one of the largest mining companies in the world. Shenhua is currently in the process of developing a first-class modern open cut coal mine outside Gunnedah.

  • Opportunity to grow the role into a senior Mining or Technical Services role.
 
Shenhua Watermark Coal is currently at the EA phase of their new and exciting 10 mt open cut mining project and now requires a Mining Engineer at a Planning Superintendent level.
 
 
The Role:
  • Participate in the development of the mine detailed plan;
  • Prepare operational and project cost estimates, production schedules, and report on progress,production and costs compared to budget;
  • Assessing the natural, technical, financial and safety risks associated with the phases ofthe development;
  • Determine the safetyof processes, order of extraction and safety of mine walls; 
  • Plan and coordinatethe utilisation of labour and equipment consistent with efficiency targets,statutes, safety guidelines and environmental conditions.
 
 
This is a key role in the detailed planning and optimisation of the mine for efficient and cost effective extraction and will strongly impact on the life of mine cost structure. The right person will have the opportunity to progress towards senior mining or technical services roles in the mining operation.
 
Requirements:
  • Degree in Mining Engineering or a related discipline;
  • NSW Coal Mining Open Cut Manager Mining Certificate of Competency is desirable;
  • A minimum 10 years professional mining industry experience;
  • Extensive coal mine planning and scheduling experience;
  • Mine start-up experience desirable;
  • Highly proficient in the use of mine planning, scheduling and modellingsoftware;
  • High level computer literacy including the Microsoft Office Suite,Microsoft Project;
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills including negotiation,report writing and presentation;
  • Proactive leadership and ability to work either unsupervised or as partof a team; and
  • Preparedness andcapability to operate in a multi-cultural environment.
