PT KALTIM PRIMA COAL (PT KPC) A vacancy exists within Mining Development Division for the position of Manager – Strategic Planning. Those who are interested in and meet the requirement for this position are invited to apply.Key elements of the position include:
• Obtain relevant inputs from Marketing, Geology, Geotechnical, Survey, MSD, MOD and other divisions/departments.
• Use data obtained to establish economic reserves.
• Consider safety, environmental, cost efficiency and technical aspects during the planning process.
• Use technology such as computer simulations to find the best strategic outcomes.
• Meet with stakeholders and customers to obtain and provide information and reports as required.
• Monitor relevant areas such as land acquisition to ensure sufficient access is available.
• Prepare and propose departmental monthly and annual plans and activities; manage and control implementation of the plans.
• Promote and reinforce compliance with KPC’s safety rules and regulations to all staff and contractors.
• Promote and reinforce compliance with KPC’s Health, Safety and Environmental Management policies.
• Monitor operational activities to identify non-conformance and taking the appropriate corrective measures, particularly with regards to Fatality Prevention Elements.
• Manage, appraise and evaluate subordinates to assess their performance, provide individual feedback and coaching, organise training and enhance their professional and technical skills as well as their attitudes.
• Monitor crew morale and address as needed.
• Review and propose monthly/annual Capex and Opex budgets.
• Monitor, manage and control the budget implementation.
• Determine improvement targets, look for inefficiencies and the root causes, determine and implement action plans, measure results.
• Continually monitor the division for Business Improvement possibilities.
• Standardise procedures and ensure they are documented.Qualifications:
• Tertiary qualifications in Mining Engineering, Civil Engineering, Geology or Geotechnical qualifications may be considered.
• Extensive experience and proven skills in long term mine planning; in particular involving open cut coal mining operations. As a guide, ten (10) years plus experience should be used.
• Strong people management skills, ideally with training and supervision.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills to produce reports and to deal with a diverse range of personnel.
• Commitment to KPC’s general standards and more specifically the safety and environmental standards
• Negotiation and influencing skills.
• Analytical and problem solving skills.
• Good grasp of engineering and economic principles.
• Financial skills to handle capital appropriation, costing and budget responsibilities.
• Knowledge and exposure to a range of planning techniques and the tools to translate those ideas into reality.
