The Global Shapers Community enables youth to be a voice for the future
in local, regional and global thought processes and a catalyst of
entrepreneurship in the global public interest. To achieve its mission,
the Community is built on a network of Hubs located in major
cities/regions of the world, interacting and collaborating with other
Members and communities of the World Economic Forum, including with
leaders from business, politics, academia, civil society, science and
the media.To fulfil the team’s mission to create and sustain vibrant communities of Global Shapers, you will:
- Facilitate the creation of local communities of Global Shapers in major cities in Latin America. This includes understanding the existing landscape of youth activism, creating the environment for the formation of local Hubs, strengthening the governance and operation of existing Hubs and playing a supportive role in the determination of leaders for these communities.
- Coordinate events and activities on a decentralized basis across the region.
- Nurture Hubs so that they develop into responsible contributors to societies at the local level.
- Be responsible for content design, participant selection and on-site facilitation of regional meetings of Global Shapers as well as integrating their participation into official sessions of World Economic Forum events.
- Ensure collaboration between Global Shapers communities in Latin America with communities and activities of the World Economic Forum.
- Build a working rapport with Global Shapers, while keeping the community aligned with the institutional interests and priorities of the World Economic Forum.
You possess a broad academic background with a university degree
(Master’s or equivalent) in business or international relations with
three or more years of professional experience, preferably in a
sales/marketing environment. On-the-ground experience in the region is
necessary and any experience in mobilizing support for volunteer or
non-profit initiatives or organizations would be a plus.
You possess excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
and Spanish. Portuguese would be a strong advantage. You have an
entrepreneurial mindset and are able to synthesize well. You are a team
player with a proactive personality, possessing excellent knowledge of
regional and global business, politics and culture, and have a proven
interest in global affairs. Knowledge of and intensive engagement with
various forms of social media would be an advantage. You are prepared to
work in a dynamic and demanding environment, under pressure and within
tight deadlines.
You will join the Forum as part of the Global Leadership Fellows Programme (www.weforum.org/glf).
As such, you will be fully integrated in the World Economic Forum and
benefit from an intensive work and learning experience intended to
develop and train future leaders of global enterprises and international
organizations.
