Job Description
- Responsible for broad oversight of the PDMS modeling activities by the contractor's engineering design and construction teams.
- Provides advice to the Engineering Manager on the following modeling activities:
- Execution strategies, plans, procedures
- Progress reports
- PDMS Administration
- Clash Management and resolution
- Discipline design
- Contractor performance
- Performs independent assessments and audits on modeling practices, and ensures findings are properly closed out.
- Monitors impacts of engineering and design activities to 3D model completion, and ensures where possible, that activities are aligned with project objectives, particularly to minimizing model design changes, and ensuring modeling completion is meeting fabricator needs. Provides hands on 2D Draft drawing support for construction requirements.
- Provide overall PDMS Administration and expertise to ensure that all disciplines, including technical input from other stakeholders (Piping, Electrical, Instrumentation, Construction, Fabrication, Drilling, Structural, Completions & Operations) are directed toward the common goal of technical close out.
- Monitor contractor response to and implementation of PDMS audit findings and recommendations.
- Create or update PML to aid design in development of the PDMS model and special reporting as required.
- Generate animations/simulations.
- Coordinate with Discipline Lead Engineers regular status meetings to meet Fabrication and Construction to completion with close out of issues and punchlists.
- Capture and communicate PDMS and TEKLA improvements and design lessons learned for the project
- Monitor and advise Engineering Manager on the EPC contractor's engineering and design organization with respect to:
- Contractor's PDMS design procedures, staffing, processes, and deliverables.
- Ensure that contractor is completing all PDMS related quality assurance activities on their design.
This is a contract position.
The rate for this position is negotiable.
