The Company
Our client is a progressive mining company, with extensive operations across many resources in Australia and internationally.
They presently have a unique opportunity to join one of their more successful hard rock mines.
The Role
The responsibilities of the Senior Mine Planning Engineer includes:
- Lead a team of talented Mining Engineers and work in conjunction with the with the Planning Superintendent to ensure targets are achieved in line with the Business Plan
- Carry out the mine design, planning and scheduling to optimise resource recovery and provide technical and operational support to the mine operations
- Deliver accurate mine planning information and reports, including leading monthly planning meetings
As an industry professional, you will act as a mentor to those new to
the Technical Services Department, set high standards and encourage
compliance with our clients goals by leading by example.
The Candidate
To be successful in this role it is desired that you will possess the following skills, traits and qualifications:
- Degree or Tertiary Qualifications in Mining Engineering or a similar discipline
- Minimum of 5+ years experience in engineering / planning roles in underground metalliferous mining operations
- A solid understanding of mine planning processes, with the ability to provide support to the team
- Highly developed written and verbal communication skills
- Proficient in the use of the Microsoft Suite; Word, Excel, Powerpoint and Projects
- Software experience desired includes; Studio 5DP, Mine 24D, EPS Scheduling or MineSight

This is a residential based role, initially working a Monday to Friday
roster which may increase to an 8/6. The successful candidate will be
provided with relocation assistance.
