SKILLED is currently seeking a Storeperson for the Mobile Maintenance department of a major mining company. This is a FIFO role from Perth only on a 2/1 roster and is based in the Pilbara region of Western Australia.

This is a great opportunity for a qualified mechanic with stores experience able to commit to a role commencing soon.

The successful candidate will meet the following criteria:

• Qualified mechanic
• Should be able to carry out preventative maintenance and repairs on wide selection of tools and equipment
• Excellent computer skills
• SAP experience – able to control inventory and order parts
• Be able to deal with external vendors and stakeholders
• Great communication and people skills with a “can-do” attitude

The role

• Have PRONTO and/or SAP experience
• Have previous experience as an Underground Maintenance Planner
• Have previous planning and scheduling experience
• Have extensive experience with underground machinery

Position
Reporting to the Mobile Maintenance Supervisor, and operating in a climate of continuous improvement, your key responsibilities will include:

• Preventative maintenance, repairs, and fault finding of CAT dump trucks, Hitachi and Liebherr excavators and other ancillary mobile equipment;
• Undertaking preventative maintenance inspections in accordance with maintenance planning systems and recommending appropriate follow-up action;
• Working from schematic drawings, prints, plans or manuals, and recording any modifications;
• Utilising computerised maintenance management systems; and
• Undertaking training, as required, in order to gain new skills.

You will display total commitment to a zero harm environment through your active participation in safety meetings and site safety programs.
Skills and Experience
Successful applicants will hold an auto electrical trade certificate and hold a current 'C' class driver's licence. Previous experience in the maintenance of mining and civil earthworks or similar heavy industry mobile equipment is highly desirable.
Location
The roles across our Pilbara operations are offered on a FIFO basis from Perth, direct to site, on a 2:1 roster. The outstanding facilities at the FIFO villages include; a fully equipped gym, swimming pool, squash, tennis and basketball courts, golf driving range, mini golf, netted cricket pitch, beach volleyball court and recreation room. All rooms at the villages have their own ensuite bathroom, television, refrigerator and air-conditioning.

About the role

Reporting to the Manager Asset Integrity and Engineering, you will deliver safety, availability and cost targets, oversee the performance of mobile maintenance contractors and utilise your experience to ensure that systems and processes are in place to achieve performance measures.

Technical skills

• Experience with large scale production mining fleets (underground & surface)
• Maintenance CMMS.
• Excellent communication and time management skills.

Experience

• Electrical or Mechanical trade qualification in heavy plant with additional professional qualifications highly regarded
• Several years experience in a mining operation Mobile Maintenance Superintendent role.
• Exposure to both open cut & underground mining equipment maintenance.
• Excellent employment relations and contractor management skills
• Experience within a large team environment
• Proven problem solving and the ability to deliver effective maintenance outcomes in a timely manner
• Contractual administration & PRONTO experience preferred.
